The Chitwan National Park is 932 square kilometers in size. The oldest and most popular national park in Nepal is Chitwan National Park. The Churia Hills, oxbow lakes, and floodplains of the Rapti, Reu, and Narayani Rivers are natural features. These features are part of a well-protected subtropical forest region. This area was first created in 1973 as a rhino sanctuary.

When visiting Chitwan National Park, what can you see? One-horned rhinos, Asian elephants, mugger crocodiles, and Bengal tigers are the park’s signature animals. The park is home to more than 43 different kinds of mammals, such as gaur, four-horned antelope, striped hyena, pangolin, monitor lizard, and python.

The Bengal florican, gigantic hornbill, black stork, white stork, peafowl, red jungle fowl, egrets, herons, kingfishers, flycatchers, woodpeckers, and several other bird species have all been identified in the region.

To experience the Tharu traditional dance, you will also travel to the neighboring Tharu towns. The interior Terai is the original homeland of Nepal’s indigenous Tharus. Playing with elephants while honoring their rights is the most incredible activity in Chitwan National Park. The most breathtaking method to see wildlife is to drive a Jeep into the deep bush.
